The flowers heard everything. Like fragments of old letters, lace, gilding, tiny reliquaries of tenderness each flower in this garland holds stories of life. Memories caught inside petals. Stories never ever forgotten as they continue to bloom as we think of them. This painting is all about cherishing the every moment.

Les Fleurs Ont Tout Entendu ~ The flowers heard everything

Many weeks of coming back to this painting and looking with fresh eyes, remembering. I like to have flowers around me - usually a simple something from our yard, even a pretty weed will do. I imagine if all of the flowers could tell me what I have said to them, all of the lessons I could learn.

This painting is created on 12 × 12” wooden cradle board with a second wooden cradle board measuring 6 × 6” on top.
Many layers of torn book pages, tea stained tissues, paints, torn vintage wedding dress fabric nests sweetly behind the top painting. Holding light over everything is a hand beaded heart - using vintage pearls, tiny clear crystals. The strip of torn measuring tape gently gives balance to all of the flowers hearing everything.
